Julianna D’Orazio B. Kin (She/Her)
A little bit about me! Growing up, I was always heavily involved in sports, mainly soccer, volleyball, and basketball. Honestly, I loved being active. Throughout high school, I naturally gravitated toward science and physical education. So, when it came time to choose a post-secondary program, Kinesiology felt like the perfect fit! During university, I worked in our athletic clinic, assisting physiotherapists with rehab programs and exercise prescriptions for athletes. Through learning about sports injuries and biomechanics, I quickly realized that exercise really is the best medicine.
I have also always had a passion for women’s health, which started with my mom, who never shied away from educating me and encouraging me to be curious about my body through every stage of life. As I got older, I began to appreciate just how important strength training is for women; not only for physical health, but also for confidence, independence, and long-term well-being. I’m passionate about challenging the idea that women will become “bulky” from strength training and instead encouraging women to feel strong, healthy, and capable.
After university, I moved to Calgary and started working at a clinic, where I learned more about the administrative side of physiotherapy. During my time there, I was introduced to a women’s pelvic health physiotherapist, where I often baby sat for the moms who brought their little ones along to their appointments. Working alongside her showed me just how much of a difference pelvic health physiotherapy can make. I saw how she educated and supported women, helping them feel more confident and comfortable in their health. I’ve always admired the strength and resilience of women, and being able to support them through their health journeys is really meaningful to me. It was also through her that I was introduced to Warrior Physiotherapy and Ashley!
Outside of work, you can usually find me hanging out with my kitty, Guppy, who is basically a dog...I’m not joking, he plays fetch. If I’m not trying to tire him out, I’m probably going on a long walk/hiking, playing softball or pickleball, doing Sudoku, watching Modern Family, or crafting.
I’m so honoured to be joining this amazing group of women and to be part of a clinic that shares my passion for helping women feel strong, confident, and supported. I can’t wait to meet you, learn from you, and be part of your health journey!
